Job Description:

Responsibility:

Provides technical & applications support for commercial AFM products (Industrial automated AFMs, Research AFMs) and services offered by Park Systems. The AFM Applications Scientist will support our customer base in-house and in the field.


Description:

  • Present and demonstrate our products and technologies in person and online.
  • Generate sample data and write reports to increase competitiveness of sales.
  • Provide repair and preventive maintenance as well as analytical service as needed in-house or at customer sites.
  • Perform installations and provide training of our products in-house or at customer sites.
  • Report and record customer issues and implement solutions.
  • Provide technical consultations and customer supports via phone, email, internet or onsite visit as needed.
  • Provide analytical services and option products sales support.
  • Support and work with other scientists and R&D engineers.
  • Support to develop brochures, journal articles, application notes, etc.
  • Support in-house and in the field events such as webinar presentations, trade exhibitions, conferences, user workshops, etc.

Qualifications:

  • PhD (preferred, but not required) in physics, chemistry, materials science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related field.
  • 5 years or more hands-on experience with AFM applications and/or technical support. Prior professional experience in AFM industry a plus.
  • Proven track record of publications & presentations
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Ability to work well with others, to cooperate, and to share success with the whole team.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds from floor to hip height.
  • Ability to work in the US and qualified to obtain security clearances as needed.
